The Dumb Luck Cup Trophy
Win the season and take home the coveted Dumb Luck Cup Trophy for an entire year! Display it with pride. Guard it jealously. Return it reluctantly.

The Rules

1 Pick 10 Games Per Week
Each week, you must select exactly 10 games from the available matchups. Choose wisely—or don't, it's called Dumb Luck for a reason.
2 Picks Lock at Kickoff
Once a game starts, your pick for that game is locked. You can change your picks as many times as you want before kickoff, but once the clock starts, it's set in stone.
3 Scoring System
Points are awarded based on how your pick performs against the spread that was locked at kickoff:
Points Breakdown
2
Your team covers
1
Push (tie)
0
Your team misses
4 The Spread That Matters
Spreads can change throughout the week, but the only spread that matters is the one locked at kickoff. That's what we use to score your picks—no arguments, no appeals.
5 Missing a Week
If you don't submit picks for a week, you score 0 points that week. Life happens—we get it. But the competition continues without you.
6 Season Champion
At the end of the season, the player with the most total points wins the Dumb Luck Cup Trophy and bragging rights for an entire year. In case of a tie, we'll figure it out (co-champions are possible—see 2020).
7 Postponed or Cancelled Games
If a game is postponed to a later date, your pick carries over to the rescheduled game. If a game is cancelled entirely, that pick is voided and doesn't count toward your weekly total.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Dumb Luck Cup?
The Dumb Luck Cup is a season-long competition where you pick 10 games against the spread each week. It's called "Dumb Luck" because spreads are notoriously unpredictable—skill helps, but luck is king.
How does spread betting work?
A spread is a handicap applied to level the playing field. For example, if Kansas City is -9.5 against Las Vegas, KC must win by more than 9.5 points for your pick to "cover." If you pick the underdog (LV +9.5), they can lose by up to 9 points and you still win.
Can I change my picks before kickoff?
Yes! You can change your picks as many times as you want up until each game's kickoff. Once the game starts, your pick is locked.
What if I pick the wrong team by accident?
As long as the game hasn't started, you can change it. If the game already kicked off, tough luck—your pick is locked. Double-check before kickoff!
Can I see other players' picks?
Not until after the games lock. We keep picks private to prevent copycats and maintain the competitive spirit.
When do scores get updated?
The commissioner enters final scores after games conclude. Scores are typically updated within 24 hours of game completion. Check the leaderboard to see the latest standings.
What if there's a disputed call or scoring error?
Contact the commissioner (Da Commish) immediately. We use official game results and the locked spreads from kickoff. If there's a legitimate scoring error, we'll correct it.
What if I forget to submit picks one week?
You'll score 0 points for that week, but you can still compete in future weeks. One bad week doesn't ruin your season—this is a marathon, not a sprint.
Remember: The Dumb Luck Cup is about having fun, friendly competition, and celebrating the chaos of sports betting. Don't take it too seriously—but also, definitely take it seriously. 🏆
